Clicking the Preferences button in the Control Panel displays the above dialog.
The Show startup icon checkbox controls whether the Notify icon will be displayed as Notify is installed at system startup time. Note that if Notify has difficulty installing itself, it will display a diagnostic icon regardless of the Show startup icon checkbox. (See Notes chapter.)
The field labeled Snooze specifies the number of minutes that a message will be delayed after clicking the Snooze button in the notification alert window. You can type any number of minutes in the field, or you can make a selection from the pop-up menu. If you select Never, the Snooze button will be unavailable in the notification alert.
If a notification comes up on screen while you are not there, you probably don’t want it to stay on the screen indefinitely. The Auto-cancel field specifies the number of minutes that a notification will remain onscreen unacknowledged before being cancelled and rescheduled. Selecting Never will leave the notification on the screen forever until you explicitly dismiss it, which may or may not be desirable depending on what screen saver you might be running.
OK and Cancel have the expected effect of dismissing the dialog, and saving or not saving any changes as appropriate.
